I love the night time. It´s quiet. It´s peaceful. And I´m happy and motivated to do stuff on my own. No distractions. Just me…only me. So I would stay up till 2am or 3am. I got into my own rhythm, but if I break the rhythm and stay half an hour longer awake then the night before it would become problematic for me. I will lose the control of my sleeping rhythm. Insomnia: And day after day I would get more tired. Till the stress kills me. I suffered from Insomnia while isolated in my room. I tried to break the vicious circle but it was hopeless. Going to bed at 3am turned a few days later to 4am….5am. No sleep at all. A few days ago i just couldn´t fall asleep, so i just stared at my roof till i heard the birds chirpping outside. It´s a weird feeling hearing them chipping in mass at 5am. It got louder and louder, so I decided to get out of bed and go outside to the Neckar-River to take some photos of the scenary and the animals (mainly geese and ducks). It was great! Nobody was there. It was completely empty. It was such a great feeling. I felt alive after being stuck at home for over a month. After the three hour photo session I went back home and instantly fell asleep. I woke up a few hours later. The vicious circle starts from the beginning. I can`t escape it. I will cut of my sleep the next week to beat this Insomnia, but this procedure is pure hell. I am useless for a whole week. I will have no energy. No motivation. Wasting my time. I hate my Insomnia. Maybe someday I will fix it, but I know the next vicious circle is awaiting me….

One night when I had a pretty bad insomnia I started to watch an interview with one of my favorite founders.
I have loved the Lokai brand from a very long time.
The idea for Lokai came to the founders mind when his grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. His diagnosis made him think about the highs & lows that everyone experiences. He wanted to make a product for himself and others as a reminder to stay humble through the highs and hopeful through the lows.

The situation that is happening in the world right now has made me even more aware of how important this message is. As a person who always has highs and lows I think it’s important for us to be able to develop in these situations as well. I consider myself as an over-thinker, but I never had the time to really think about how I could get rid of it.

I think we NEED to work on our mindset in a daily basis. It could change our life and it could help us with our insomnia. In the rush of everyday life, we forget how much we can change in everything.

My insomnia is killing me! I played online memory games at 2 AM because I couldn’t fall asleep. The worst thing is that I can barely get up in the morning. I always say I should have born to the other side of the Earth because there is morning there when I should be asleep. I’m a night owl – somehow my brain works better at nights – but it is no longer healthy if I wanna sleep and my body constantly doesn’t let me. I’m always so tired during the day. This is not right! Why can’t I just sleep like normal human beings? Why can’t I switch my mind off? I wanna sleep! I wanna get a nice, calm deep sleep! I want to be in alfa! And not in beta. I’m always in beta. It sucks!

Doing mind management:

As we all know positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health. So we thought that positive thinking is a solution for insomnia. It’s also thought that positive and optimistic people tend to live healthier lifestyles, they get more physical activity (go for a run, hike, working out), follow a healthier diet.

Ideal sleep environment:

We all know the facts about the “ideal sleeping enviroment”. Sometimes insomnia is caused by sleeping in a warm room, noisy room and an uncomfortable bed. The ideal sleep environment is cool, quite and dark. So we thought that changing your sleep environment could help too.

Healthy Lifestyle:

Healthy lifestyle is important for your body to work properly. It’s important to eat healthy, drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, coffeine and smoking.
You also need to exercise to keep your heart, lungs and muscles strong and healthy. Healthy lifestyle is important for your well-being and it’s proven that healthy lifestyle helps you to sleep better.
